Newcastle United & Virgin Money To End Partnership At The End Of This Season

Newcastle United have today announced that their sponsorship agreement with Virgin Money will be terminated at the end of the season as the club have found ‘an exciting new sponsorship deal‘.

The agreement was reached between the club and Virgin Money in January 2012 and was due to run until the end of the 2013/14 season.

The club’s official website has confirmed that “an exciting new sponsorship deal” will be announced in the coming weeks.

Jayne-Anne Gadhia, a spokesperson from Virgin Money, confirmed the partnership termination:

“We remain sponsor until the end of the current season and the Virgin Money.”

“We hoped that this would be a relationship that would flourish for years to come.”

“However, they have found a different option and we have to respect that.”

Newcastle United’s Managing Director, Derek Llambias, said:

“We have enjoyed a very successful partnership with Virgin Money which we thank them for.”

“However we have decided to end the agreement early and we will be announcing a new sponsorship partner shortly which represents an excellent commercial deal for both parties.”
